Omid Kassiri

Omid is the Managing Partner of McKinsey’s EastAfrica Office (Nairobi and Addis Ababa). He leads McKinsey’s Agriculture forAfrica as well as the Firm’s global food security service line.

He works with public, social and private sector institutions across the Continent – with a sharp focus on the importance of food systems on the livelihoods and development of the African continent.

In his personal capacity, he has founded or invested in a wide range of agriculture and food related companies at various levels of maturity, including a large commercial farm in the DRC and a full value-chain start up in Kenya

He sits on the Advisory Board of One Acre FundKenya; the Board of Malaika Kitchens; and the FarmWorks Institute.

He holds an Engineering degree from theUniversity of Cape Town and an MSc in Technology and Policy and Civil andEnvironmental Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology
