Mark York

Mark York is a PhD Candidate in Computer Science at Harvard University. As part of Harvard’s EconCS Group, his research includes alternative credit assessment algorithms, crowdsourcing, and fundamental machine learning. Previously he consulted as part of McKinsey’s agriculture practice, serving clients across Africa and the Americas. Mark was the first to bring machine learning to Cargill’s grain trading unit. He is the Co-Founder and President of Tractors for Africa, which provides mechanization services and input credit to 1,000 farmers in northern Ghana, and he plans to launch a pay-as-you-go solar irrigation startup in Côte d’Ivoire upon graduation.
