Emmanuel Birba
Emmanuel Birba is a seasoned investor and climate activist. For over 10 years, at Meridiam, Emmanuel has led the development, financing, and management of critical infrastructure projects in Europe and Africa. In Ethiopia, where he opened Meridiam’s regional office for East Africa, he delivered the country’s first geothermal independent power producer, contributing an additional capacity of 150MW to the national grid, to accelerate the country’s green economic development agenda. As the Director for Africa at The Nature Conservancy, he originated and executed numbers of sustainable investments in nature-based assets within the forestry, regenerative agriculture and carbon fields. Emmanuel holds a Bachelor in Physics from University of Montpellier, a Master in Finance from EMLYON and a Master in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School.
