Sophia Alj

Sophia Alj is the Co-founder and COO of Chari, a B2B e-commerce app with embedded fintech. The app allows mom and pop shops to order any consumer goods they sell and get delivered for free on the next day while benefiting from micro-credit and payment facilities. The company was a member of the Summer 2021 cohort at Y Combinator and raised the largest Series A funding in Morocco to date. Sophia and her co-founders are also part of Endeavor, an organization that supports entrepreneurs who have an important economic and social impact in their region.

Before becoming an entrepreneur, Sophia worked at McKinsey & Company as a strategy consultant across Africa during 4 years. She is also the mother of 2 kids, Malyk & Leyla, who are respectively 3 and 4 years old. She is passionate about outdoors activities: she is a triathlete and licensed skydiver.
