Raquel Smith

Raquel is a venture finance attorney that represents both startups and investors in a broad range of domestic and cross-border deals extending from venture equity transactions to venture debt transactions.

A former associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, Raquel also has experience representing buyers, sellers, borrowers and lenders in negotiated equity and asset sale transactions, and drafting and advising on corporate governance documents, disclosure filings, and regulatory documents.

Raquel is one of the co-founders of Lowenstein Sandler’s Africa Practice, which advises startups, growth companies, mature companies, venture capital, growth equity and private equity funds, and other investors on sophisticated business transactions around the world with a focus on Africa, including equity capital raising, debt financing, mergers and acquisitions, and joint ventures.
